Xiaomi says a humanoid robot working on one of its automotive factory lines has lifted its success rate at a self-tapping nut loading station from 90.2% to 98% after four months of iteration. TechNode, citing company material via Jiemian, reports that puts the robot about one percentage point from the human workers’ qualification rate on the same station.
The company also says it added two further tasks — center console side panel sorting and parts bin folding and recycling — each at about 90% success. Xiaomi frames the console-panel station as the first time a humanoid has run long-duration continuous operations on flexible workpieces inside an automotive factory. Treat that “first” as an OEM claim, not an industry census.
RobotVersus now lists Xiaomi as a manufacturer (Beijing). There is still no factory-humanoid robot row: public coverage of the 98% result does not reliably name the platform (CyberOne is a 2022 stage product often assumed in secondary posts, not confirmed in the TechNode write-up). Read the story as a deployment and process metric update from Xiaomi’s own EV manufacturing stack, not a new catalogue launch.
The percentages are Xiaomi-reported. Sources do not publish audited operating hours for this update, independent yield sampling, or a buyer-facing datasheet for the factory unit. Earlier colour pieces mention a March baseline around 90.2% and line takt constraints; they do not turn the July figures into a transferable benchmark against Tesla Optimus, Unitree or UBTECH without matching task definitions.
